My youtube video misidentified(in my opinion)?
I have a youtube video up that I made a while back & its w/ pics of the King of Pop & the music I used is from Disney’s Aladdin & It’s “A Whole New World” however,it says that it’s “owned by WMG”!!
That to me, doesn’t make ANY sense –AT ALL!!– I thought that only DISNEY owned that song!!! Why does it say that “WMG” (Copyright owner)??
Nothing adds up on that whatsoever.
I’ve stated that I felt my vid was misidentified however, it has not been pulled at this point & it seems weird that my vid plays since I thought WMG had vids pulled down before.
Whether it’s Disney or WMG, nothing changes the fact
that it’s a “copyright” song which doesn’t belong to you,
even if you own the DVD or bought it off iTunes. Unless
you are the composer, artist, or record label who made
the song, there’s nothing for you to argue with YouTube.
If they haven’t yet removed your video (or muted it), it is
possible that the copyright owner has decided that you
aren’t “defaming” the song, and thus your video is okay
for now to be on YouTube. But bear in mind that they’re
allowed to change their mind anytime.
