Spanish Disney Movies available on YouTube: Top 10
Watching Spanish films is a good way to listen to Spanish and improve your speaking ability. However in some Spanish movies the language is very difficult and fast and therefore isn’t suitable for beginner or intermediate level Spanish speakers. However there are solutions to this problem; one is to watch Spanish movies with the subtitles in Spanish because often reading the words as well as hearing them improves the amount we take in. However the problem with this approach is that often you miss a lot of information as the plot moves too quickly (because you can’t read the subtitles in time) and there is too great an emphasis placed on reading. Therefore I would recommend either watching translated films you know very well so you don’t have to worry about following the plot, or, as I suggest in this article, watching classic children’s Disney movies in Spanish. There are loads of these available for free on YouTube (some complete and some just clips) and these are my Top 10:
– The Lion King – First up is one of the great Disney Films and this one is available in full on YouTube. Search El Rey Leon parte 1 on YouTube and enjoy.
– The Lion King 2 – not quite as good as the first but available in Spanish in complete once again. Search “El Rey Leon 2 parte 1″ on YouTube.
– Hercules – another classic available in its entirety on YouTube. Search “Hercules en Espanol Parte 1″ on YouTube.
– Robin Hood – A bit more obscure with this movie from 1973 – search “Robin Hood Disney Dublado Parte 1″
– The Jungle Book – This classic Disney movie from 1967 is not available in complete in Spanish on Youtube. The movie is a really good movie for an intermediate speaker however so I would recommend finding it if you can. “El Libro de La Selva Espanol” on YouTube if you just want to watch clips of the classic songs “Lo Mas Vital” and “Yo Quiero Ser Hombre Como Tu”.
– Alice in Wonderland – this one should bring back some nostalgic memories for some of you. There is a version of the film available on YouTube but I can’t find Disney’s most famous version. Search “Alicia en el Pais de las Maravillas Parte 1″
– The Little Mermaid – translates as “la Sirenita” – there are whole sections of this classic Disney movie available in Spanish online. However what I did find really useful was the TV series which is available on YouTube. Search “la Sirenita Capitulo” and there are over 30 episodes available.
– The Beauty and the Beast – Search “La Bella y La Bestia Parte 1 Walt Disney” and the whole movie is available
– Pocahantas – the complete film isn’t available on Youtube but there are clips and the classic songs available. Search “Colores en el Viento” (colours in the wind) for one of these.
– Aladdin. Last but not least comes Aladdin – I haven’t managed to find the full movie however there are a lot of episodes from the TV series available. Search “Aladdin 17- Mal tiempo” and then go from there.
